Can I Really Make Money???

Earning money at home has always been my dream, but after so many failures in MLM and other ‘ventures’, my husband and I promised each other to never try another homebased business again. Until…last April.

During a typical small-town boutique I met Shelly. We were sitting back-to-back all day. I was (successfully) selling kitchen utensils and she was, well, not doing very much. However, we talked occasionally, and what she said, or more what she did not say, intrigued me.

So, needless to say, when she called me 2 days later, I was all ears.  She presented me with a business concept that just made sense. This was not MLM, not any direct sales company. Sure, the boutique was not the right venue for what she did, but I could see a real potential here.

That night, my husband and I drove a good hour to meet up with some of Shelly’s business partners to look them in the eye, hear them out, expose them if necessary and move on. But, as hard as we tried, all these people seemed very down to earth and honest. They were real. The compensation plan looked solid and we were willing to put it to the test: ‘if we could make $1,000 in our first month (4 weeks) we would be in business with them. If not, we would stop, get our money back and move on’.

The next day they called for a short training. I did exactly what they told me to do and within 2 weeks I had earned $900!!! I had proved to myself that earning money at home was definately possible!

Since then, our business has grown steadily. I work about 15-20 hours a week around my family and homeschooling kids and have made a lot of nice friends.

If you too are trying to figure out how to make extra money, don’t give up! It is possible! Even in this economy…or should I say especially in this economy! The business I am in is growing fast. It is helping people to reduce their monthly budget, to save on gas and time and even earning money at home is a possibility!

I am a great fan of Jim Cockrum. I met him a couple of years ago at a conference in Georgia and and have received his free newsletter ever since.

Click Here to check out my favorite FREE eBay newsletter!

Now he has come out with a great new course!

Maybe you’ve heard about it already, but Amazon has changed its way of doing business drastically and made life a lot easier for those that want to make money on Amazon.

Introducing “Fulfillment by Amazon”

Now you can send all your products to Amazon, they will list and sell them for you and then, using their low shipping rates, send them to your customers!

The course was released yesterday and is still priced very low. It will go up within the next couple of weeks or so.

If you know Jim Cockrum and have read his Ebay Ebook, you will want to learn about this course.

In this economy, with the gas prices reaching an all time high, more and more people will buy their stuff online.

its on February 23rd, 2011

I made my goal of 30 pages by the end of January. My new goal is 50 pages by the end of February, and God willing, I’ll make it! I am at 44 right now (47 according to my blueprint, but I must have counted a couple of pages double) and it is ‘only’ the 23rd.

5 More days!

I am finding that I am crystallizing more on the look&feel of my site, but as well on my ‘voice’. I was getting a little burned out, because I started feeling that I was going in a direction I don’t like myself. So, even though I want to make my goal/desire of 50 pages, I will start editing too. It is so important that I am the one ‘talking’ and not some pretend person. I should only write about my areas of expertise, and not fall into the trap of the most valuable keywords. (I’m sure you’re getting what I’m talking about. )

SBI! comes with great tools, and once I had at least 30 pages up, I started looking at some of the traffic building strategies.

You learn to “get it right” quickly (or correct bad habits) so you can focus on other traffic-building strategies. (These are also easily mastered due to “automation-and-process.”)

Traffic Stats and Click Analysis help you understand what your visitors like most. Understanding them helps you know what to write about, which in turn leads to more and more business.

SBI! includes Value Exchange (VE) for finding and managing high value inbound links (another criteria for ranking highly at the engines and building traffic). This automated inbound link-building tool saves time for what is otherwise a tedious time-sucker.

So, next month I will be focusing on:

  1. writing more pages
  2. traffic building
  3. Value Exchange, or, inbound links.

Oh, and did I mention C2.0? I love it! It was easy to set up…I got my first submission and now it’s time for the traffic.

So…if you have anything you would like to add to my site, please click on over there and submit your recipe or travel tip :) Thanks!

I Got Side-Tracked…

Wow, it’s been a while! It is already January 2011 and I got side-tracked really bad…or was it bad?

As a homeschooling family, our children come first (right after God) and that just got a bit more involved since our oldest is now a Senior in HS and a Freshmen in College at the same time.

However, since have settled a little and now it’s time to pick up the pace again.

I am now working on my goal to have at least 30 pages up by the end of the month.

Once that is done, I will work on adding one or two Content 2.0 invitations and invite others to add to my site. That could potentially turn into something very good…if you do it right.

Content 2.0 is a powerful tool that allows others to get involved and help you build valuable content for your site…for FREE. At SBI! they allow you to edit (or delete) every submission so that your site doesn’t become ‘spammy’ and trashy but continues with high quality information.

Oh…on that note, why don’t you check out my site, sub-scribe to rss feed and get involved. I would love to get your honest input on the content that’s there. If you like it, let me know. If it needs improvement, definitely let me know.

Thank you!

How To Use the World Wide Web
To Leverage Your Local Business

Just like you are on the web right now, a potential customer for your product or store/business may be doing a search on Google or Bing to find a product you offer.

  • Can they find you?
  • Do they know you can help them?
  • Do they know that you are in their town?

Do you have a small business that is largely off-line?

For example…

  • Are you a real estate agent in small town Montana?
  • Are you a plumber in Tehachapi, California?
  • Do you own a neighborhood hardware store in Bristol, England?
  • Or are you a dentist in Haarlem, the Netherlands?

You may think that a website on the World Wide Web is not profitable for you. But, think about it: more and more people turn to Google instead of the local Yellow Pages. With modern Search Engines you can get yourself in front of local people, looking for local services with a website that is visible to the global community!

That is powerful!

Think about it! If you could get in front of every local person doing a local search for a product or service you offer, your business will grow leaps and bounds!

Here is an excellent article. Read it and get the BIG PICTURE even if that picture is local :)

We also offer help with our site, or we can build your complete site for you. Just contact us and let us know what your needs are.

I was reading a blog post the other day and this sentence just stuck out of it:

“Quitting can become easier and easier, so don’t let it become a habit.”

That reminded me of Ken Evoy, the founder of SBI! and his wisdom. Ken chose as the mascot for SBI! the tortoise. The tortoise goes slowly but steadily, he doesn’t give up easily and sticks to it.

That’s exactly what we need to do when building a profitable website! It is so easy to just give up after a while. But imagine what would happen, if you stuck to it? Remember the dream you had, when you first began!

That is what I love about SBI! The action guide keeps you on track and helps you to focus on the task before you. No need to get overwhelmed. No need to get it all done in a day!

Check out Ken’s Blog Post here

Okay, it’s been a while since I wrote. But, my new site is now up and I am building pages. One at a time. According to their guidelines and standards. The more I have been working on this site, the more I am convinced that SBI! truly teaches how to build a website the right way!

Go check it out here: FrugalSavvy.com Make sure to check back often to see the new pages coming up.

Now is the time to work on the c-t-p part of the c-t-p-m module.

  1. Content: keep building pages with great, useful content. SBI! teaches how to write for the human eye and the SEs
  2. Traffic: Traffic will start coming if you follow the SBI! guidelines – this is FREE traffic
  3. PreSell: good content written in a way to give information and be helpful is a great way to Presell your visitors.

After these 3 are in place, the M will be implemented and the site will start to monetize!

Here is a great new video explanation:

I have finished Day (Stage) 4 of the Action Guide. Now I am working on Day 5. I am still very impressed with the step by step system and am planning out the whole site…well, part of it anyway.

I have decided on the Look & Feel, the VPP (Valuable PREselling Proposition) and the Voice. I have discovered my ideal visitor and target audience. The next step will be to do a final evaluation before I register a domain name.

These last few exercises were very enlightening. I now have a clear concept and can systematically start making my KFCP (Keyword Focused Content Pages) based on the profitability of the keywords and eventually the monetizability.

But first I am taking a few days off to go on Winter Camp with our Youth Group! 5 feet of snow with about 70 Junior High kids! That should be tons of fun!

Here is the Free ebook ‘Make Your Content PREsell’

Oh, here is a very interesting article on Google

Phew! After some heavy duty and systematic  data gathering and analysis I have now come up with a Site Concept for my new website.   That doesn’t mean that it won’t change, but for now I really feel that I have accomplished something.

The tools are easy to use, I can back up as often as I like and if the next phase proves that my concept is not profitable or monetizable, I ‘ll just start over.

You know, the wise man built his house upon the rock…a good foundation means long term success!

If you take the foundation of an online business as serious as any other business, you don’t mind taking the time to do your due diligence…

I’ve come to realize that if you plan to build a website with a central theme, a website that should bring up money, a website that should keep growing in traffic and visitors for a long time, you need to take your time to research your possibilities.

This is turning more and more into a personal growth and self development thing! No kidding! I am really learning to read and follow directions. Those who know me, know that I usually make up my mind really quick (too quick), dive into the deep-end before I know how to swim, and trust that everything will work out just fine. Well, that is of course the best recipe for wasted time and failure.

I am really enjoying this process. It is showing me that I can slow down and thus get things done right.

Granted, I am still in Day (Phase) 2 and still honing in on my Site Concept. But, I am making progress and getting great ideas.

Keep coming back, and I’ll keep you posted…or better yet, subscribe to the rss feed or for my newsletter.
